c25k W5D1: Complete!
Yeah yeah, I said last week I was going to repeat part of Week 4 as I didn’t feel I was ready for Week 5. But I went ahead and tried it today, and it went great!
What I did differently is that I was 100% focused on improving my running form. I was breathing deeper, which really helped (wasn’t as out of breath during the walking intervals), and I was improving my stride. I think I’ve actually been going too slow which was messing up my stride; I actually ran most of the intervals at 4.5 mph. My stride was longer (but pretty sure I wasn’t over striding) and as a result I wasn’t bouncing as much.
Also, when I was done, instead of taking the direct route home, I took a side trail that goes around this pond and ran almost the entire time. And again, my running form is better outside than on the treadmill, which reinforces my belief that I’ve been going too slow on the treadmill.
Also, I managed to run into a spiderweb. Bleh.
